Custom lighting by our specialist lighting team

Custom lighting.Made for the space.

Our custom-lighting team is our specialist lighting brand. Together with architects, designers and project teams, we turn an idea into a light fixture made for its setting.

Bring us your starting point

A reference.
A sketch.
An idea.

You do not need a finished lighting design to begin. A few details about the space help us understand what you want to make.

Discuss your lighting brief

Share your plans and reference images with our team.

Useful details to prepare

  1. 01Reference images, a sketch or a description of the atmosphere.
  2. 02Floor plans, ceiling height, fixture dimensions and mounting conditions.
  3. 03Preferred materials, finishes and lighting effects.
  4. 04Quantity, destination and electrical or control requirements.
  5. 05Budget range, project stage and the date lighting is needed on site.

A closer look

A bespoke light needs several kinds of approval.

The design image, the material sample and the installed assembly answer different questions. Use a staged brief so the intended effect survives decisions about fabrication, control and installation.

Decisions worth resolving

Approve appearance with a physical reference.

Use a material or component sample to discuss texture, colour, thickness, lit effect and acceptable variation. Mark what the reference settles and what still needs a full-scale mock-up. Keep the approved sample identifier alongside the design revision.

Why this matters

Our custom-lighting team’s design-centre workflow distinguishes sketches, renderings, drawings and prototype development.

Resolve the electrical configuration.

Specify the supply, driver/control combination, destination and use environment. Have the project’s responsible reviewer identify the evaluation and documentation needed for the complete luminaire. Confirm the accepted configuration before it is repeated.

Why this matters

UL describes different programme scopes for fixed and portable luminaires.

Plan how the light reaches its final position.

Review weight, lifting and access, support interfaces, assembly sequence, driver access and replacement components with the site team. The installer must resolve the site-specific fixing design. Ask which delivery and installation documents are included in the project scope.

Our custom-lighting team’s published process includes design refinement, production and service/installation stages.

Before the order

A few things to clarify.

Practical questions for your brief, your quotation and the next decision.

Discuss your requirements →
What is needed to start a custom chandelier enquiry?

Send a plan or room photo, ceiling height, approximate size and drop, references, destination and programme. If some details are open, mark them clearly so design development can be scoped.

Can I review a material sample or prototype?

Discuss the required sample or prototype at the start. Its scope, cost, delivery and role in the approval process are agreed for the individual design; a full-size prototype is not assumed for every project.

Who installs a bespoke lighting fixture?

Confirm the installation responsibilities in the project scope. The local team should review mounting, electrical connections, access and assembly information before the fixture is released.

Where can I see documented our custom-lighting team work?

Explore nine detailed projects in the lighting collection, including hotel, restaurant, residential and sculptural work. Each project links to its original our custom-lighting team source and identifies fixture photographs, workshop views or design renderings where relevant.

A useful specification starts with a clear reference. Browse material and product examples with source pages, dimensions and the details to confirm.
